About Fujiwo Ishimoto

Fujiwo Ishimoto is a Japanese artist and designer. In 1970, he moved to Finland, and worked as Marimekko’s textile designer from 1974 to 2006, crafting over 400 fabric prints over 32 years. His designs, influenced by nature, became distinctive features.
In 1989, he joined the art department of Arabia, a renowned Finnish pottery. There, he created expressive ceramic works, featuring relief designs of flowers and fruits He returned to his hometown of Ehime in 2020 and is now passionately pursuing his creative activities.
